V20 CLIMATE PROSPERITY FELLOWS
This V20 Climate Prosperity Fellowship Programme is part of the CVF-V20’s broader strategy to mobilize international support and drive ambitious climate action for climate-vulnerable nations. Under this programme, mid to senior-level officials from the Ministries of Finance, Economy, and Planning of CVF-V20 nations will gain the tools, knowledge, and networks necessary to lead on climate finance policy, mobilize domestic resources, and access international financial mechanisms.
The Fellowship Programme was launched in October 2023 in partnership with the Boston University Global Development Policy Center on the sidelines of the 2023 Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund in Marrakech, Morocco.
Key components of this Fellowship Programme include:
Deep engagement with international financial architecture reform, particularly around debt sustainability, climate-aligned financial systems, and carbon finance.
Practical training in policy negotiation and strategic advocacy, aligned with the priorities of the V20 Finance Ministers.
Focused sessions on shifting financial flows, mainstreaming climate risk in macroeconomic surveillance, and innovative financing approaches to close the climate investment gap.
By building a cadre of climate finance leaders across CVF-V20 countries, the Fellowship aims to accelerate the delivery of transformative climate solutions, including the implementation of Climate Prosperity Plans, and unlock new opportunities for resilient, shared prosperity.
