OBJECTIVE
The Investment Associate will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and implementing programmatic activities under the Gambia’s Climate Prosperity Investment and Financing Strategy and related climate finance initiatives. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized self-starter who can manage complex workflows while bringing strong analytical and financial skills to support both program delivery and transaction advisory efforts. Core responsibilities include project management, stakeholder engagement, technical and policy analysis, and resource mobilization to advance The Gambia’s transition toward climate-resilient and sustainable development pathways.
The Associate will work closely with government agencies, development partners, financial institutions, industry associations, private-sector actors, civil society, and academia to ensure smooth implementation, accelerated capacity, and effective delivery of program objectives. The role includes managing due diligence processes, leading aspects of financial modelling and compliance workflows, coordinating with private-sector partners, overseeing the contributions of partners, contributing to the structuring of climate-related transactions, supporting fundraising and investment preparation activities, and contributing to institutional growth through knowledge development, strategic research, and fund operations.
SCOPE OF WORK
The Associate will play a central role in delivering climate finance and transaction advisory, overseeing analytical workstreams, supporting transaction execution, and contributing to institutional growth. This position requires strong judgement, the ability to manage complex workflows, and the maturity to work directly with senior government counterparts, partners, and private-sector actors. The Investment Associate shall possess the following minimum qualifications:
