Investment Analyst (Bangladesh), South Asia Regional Office

OBJECTIVE

The Investment Analyst in Bangladesh will be responsible for providing support in the coordination, and implementation of programmatic activities under the Bangladesh Climate Prosperity Plan (CPP) and related climate finance initiatives. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organised self-starter who can manage complex workflows while bringing strong analytical and financial skills to support both program delivery and transaction advisory efforts. Core responsibilities include project management, stakeholder engagement, technical and policy analysis, and resource mobilization to advance Bangladesh’s transition toward climate-resilient and sustainable development pathways.

The Analyst will work closely with government agencies, development partners, financial institutions, industry associations, private-sector actors, civil society, and academia to ensure smooth implementation, accelerated capacity, and effective delivery of program objectives. The role includes supporting due diligence processes, aspects of financial modelling and compliance workflows, engagement with private-sector partners, overseeing the contributions from partners, contributing to the structuring of climate-related transactions, supporting fundraising and investment preparation activities, and contributing to institutional growth through knowledge development, strategic research, and fund operations.

SCOPE OF WORK

The Analyst will support the delivery of environmental, social, and climate finance advisory services, contributing to high-quality analytical outputs, transaction support, and institutional development. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Assist in the management and execution of advisory engagements;
  2. Prepare presentations, concept notes, session agendas, reports, and overview decks;
  3. Coordinate inputs from leadership and ensure timely completion of deliverables;
  4. Manage due diligence workflows, internal approval processes, and compliance documentation;
  5. Develop, update, and maintain financial models and analytical tools to inform decision-making;
  6. Perform other research, programmatic, organizational, or communications tasks as requested by the Managing Director and/or CVF management;
  7. Participate in and, where appropriate, lead discussions with government, partners, third parties, and advisors to support transaction structuring and execution;
  8. Coordinate multi-stakeholder inputs to ensure smooth progress of engagements;
  9. Support negotiations, financial modelling, fundraising efforts, and transaction closings;
  10. Prepare transaction documentation and assist in ensuring alignment across all parties;
  11. Track project timelines and deliverables to ensure on-time delivery;
  12. Execute additional activities necessary for engagement completion;
  13. Strengthen existing partnerships and develop new collaborations with national and regional authorities, development partners, and stakeholders to enhance the visibility of CVF-V20;
  14. Promote the uptake of CVF-V20 outputs and lead regional-level communication and outreach activities in collaboration with communications and resource mobilization teams;
  15. Perform other research, programmatic, organizational, or communications tasks as requested by the Managing Director and/or CVF management.

 

Reports to: Regional Director for South Asia

QUALIFICATIONS

The Investment Analyst shall possess the following minimum qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Public Policy, or a related discipline. 
  2. A minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in investment banking, fund management, climate finance, or related fields.
  3. Demonstrated track record in designing, managing, and overseeing complex multi-stakeholder programs.
  4. Experience working directly with private sector, government entities and multilateral partners on transactions, reforms, capacity-building initiatives, or implementation of climate strategies.
  5. In-depth understanding of finance, climate finance, including loss and damage funds, green bonds, blended finance solutions, and multilateral climate funds.
  6. Support and help lead negotiations, financial modelling, fundraising activities, and transaction closings.
  7. Prepare and review transaction documentation, ensuring alignment across all participating parties.
  8. Experience working in or with climate-vulnerable regions, combined with cultural sensitivity and the ability to adapt engagement strategies to local contexts.
  9. Self-starter with an entrepreneurial, adaptive, and collaborative approach to problem-solving and driving results in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
  10. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical topics into clear, compelling messages for senior policymakers and diverse stakeholders/
  11. Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages relevant to CVF-V20 regions is an asset.
  12. Strong commitment to achieving measurable outcomes that promote climate resilience, just transition, and inclusive growth.
  13. Ability and willingness to travel internationally as needed.
