CARBON FINANCE PROGRAM

The CVF-V20 Carbon Finance Program, in partnership with the Voluntary Carbon Market Integrity Initiative (VCMI), aims to unlock high-integrity carbon finance opportunities for CVF-V20 member states. The program aims to build the capacity of climate-vulnerable countries to engage in carbon markets as both contributors to global mitigation and beneficiaries of associated financial flows, ensuring that the  resulting benefits reach frontline communities.

The partnership supports member states in several key areas:

Framework development for transparent and credible carbon market participation, in alignment with international standards and best practices;

Project pipeline preparation, helping countries identify and develop climate mitigation initiatives that are eligible for carbon crediting and can attract high-quality finance;

Capacity building and technical assistance to ensure institutional readiness and equitable participation in carbon markets;

Market access facilitation, enabling countries to connect with buyers and investors aligned with integrity principles.
