How to Become a Member

  1. ⁠The Head of State (HOS)/Head of Government (HOG), Minister for Finance or Minister for Foreign Affairs of the country can initiate the expression of interest to join the Climate Vulnerable Forum and V20 Finance Ministers through official letter communication. A representative is also always welcome to attend CVF-V20 sessions as an observer to start.

  2. ⁠Any country wishing to join the CVF-V20 should formally express their interest through an official letter addressed to the the CVF Chair with the following in copy based on the sender:

    *Please note that the official letter needs to have the official letter head of the Government and signed by the Head of State/Head of Government.
  4. The formal request will be confirmed through a membership non-objection during a Senior Officials Meeting.

  5. Once the membership of the country to the CVF-V20 is confirmed, the Head of State/Government will be welcomed officially as a member during the CVF Leaders Meeting in the margins of the UN General Assembly (September) or through the Finance Minister during the V20 Ministerial Dialogue in the margins of the Spring (April) or Annual (October) Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund. In the meantime, all representatives are welcome to join the meetings and events of the CVF-V20.
