V20 Climate Prosperity Fellowship Program 2025
Call for Applications
In 2025, the Fellowship Program will expand to include officials from CVF-V20 Member States’ Permanent Missions to the United Nations in New York. This aims to equip diplomats assigned to the Second Committee with a comprehensive understanding of the V20’s positions on key issues discussed within the Committee, including matters that will be negotiated during the intergovernmental process leading up to the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development.
Fellows will be equipped with the latest climate finance and economic research and analytics to unlock strategic opportunities to drive investments in climate, development and nature.
The Fellowship Program serves as a cornerstone in realizing V20’s mission of creating a fit-for-climate financial system through implementation of the Accra-to-Marrakech Agenda, which encompasses the following four elements:
- Make Debt Work for the Climate
- Transform the International and Development Financial System
- A New Global Deal on Carbon Financing
- Revolutionize Risk Management for our Climate Insecure World Economy
At the end of the Fellowship, the participants are expected to:
- Understand the international financial architecture and identify opportunities to support climate prosperity;
- Engage in policy discussions concerning reform of the international financial architecture;
- Harness the knowledge and skills needed to engage and access processes associated with the international financial architecture including on debt reform, shifting of financial flows, carbon financing exchanges and mainstream surveillance of climate risks to drive new investment;
- Deploy communications tactics to raise awareness of the priorities of climate vulnerable countries in relation to the reform of the international financial architecture.
